New Here
My name is Bettagurl. I live in MD and just got a pair of rats after a 2 year hiatus from having pet rats. I got them from a breeder, and hope to breed them once they are of age. The male is a himalayan, the female a seal point siamese. I have lots of other critters too. I breed bettas, but the rest of my pets are strictly pets.

C'est Moi
I'm Heidi. I've been happy cohabitating with rats almost two years now when my daughter called me from a pet store and asked me if she could bring one home. That was Frankie, referred to in our family as Frankie the fearless (cause she was) and also to differentiate her from Frankie Jr, who is not actually a junior in the traditional sense - just a very similarily marked beige hoody! We've had a lot of rats go through this house. We've bought females who gave us bonus babies (surprise!) and we also take in rats needing to be rehomed or rescued, and if we happen to find someone who loves them, wants them then we rehome! Yay for happy endings. At one point we had 29 rats here!
Needless to say, some things have suffered around our house since the advent of the rats, my couch WAS new and now needs replacement, I've lost several cell phone chargers, and even have what I call a pair or Frankie commenrative underwear - they are rat nibbled! The thing that has suffered most however, is my cats pride! Both of the Frankies love/d chasing my poor Bouncer around the house, Frankie Jr even chases Annie who is a 15 pound hunter!!! I love my rats, and I've learned so much about them; I'm always on the net looking up new things and joining chat groups to learn more. My daughter and I enjoy setting people straight about rats; there's nothing better than making more rat converts!
Introducing Myself (Finally)
Hey all, I'm Melissa (better known to some of you as Luthien Nightwolf). I'm the proud pet parent of 24 rats, some mine and some up for adoption, as well as one guinea pig and one rabbit. I work at Petsmart and I'm also an aspiring artist, I also love anything to do with Faeries and all related fantasy creatures. I live in Arizona (not crazy about the heat though) in an apartment with my fiancee and all my fuzzbutts.
If you'd like to know more about my rats check out their myspace, its full of pictures and videos and fun stuff. Go to http://www.myspace.com/luthiensrats
To see more of my artwork (and yes I do sell prints and take commissions, especially for rat art!)check out my website at http://www.midwintermagicart.com
I've first had the pleasure of befriending a rat when I was 11 or 12, maybe younger. Since then I've had over 30 rats, but my current mischief is the most I've had all at once! I can't honestly see myself ever NOT having rats, and hope to someday start up my own rescue when I have the money, time and resources. Currently I'm working on converting everyone to loving rats as much as I do. =)
Rats are like Jello...there's always room for more!
Introducing me.
My name is Chrissy and I have three ratties currently. I live in Washington PA. I have had many rats and they have all touched my heart with their sweet personalites. They are my children since I live alone in my apartment..they make my life happy. I wake to those little faces every morning. I rescued two of my current rats.. Kora and Rizzy were both from a horrible pet store, that had over 100 rats in a 20 gallon aquarium. They were all sick and expecting and the little ones were getting killed. I picked out the two smallest ones (first to be food) and left crying as the manager didn't care to hear what I had to say. I was going to simply carry out the entire aquarium. Wondering what I was going to do with 100 rats. I then turned them into the humane society and the ASPCA and they shut the store down and fined the owner.!! I won!! all the rats got moved to nearby stores!! Regardless, Rizzy was only 3 weeks old and no bigger than my thumb. Kora was sick and dehydrated. They are both very healthly and spoiled now, both suffer from the long term respitory problems. Meeko was a pet store baby, and I couldn't pass up her little masked face. She is a fatty and she loves her belly rubbed and likes kisses..
I have a rattie page.. that is under construction.. but you can see my ratties on my myspace page under the "Rat Mischief section. I look forward to talking to all of you!!
I'm Mandy.
My name is Mandy. I live in Mobile, AL. Right now I am unemployed but was taking care of animals at a local pet store. I have three buck Dumbos: Bandit, Bruce, and Bob. Bandit got his name cause his cap looks like a mask around his face, Bruce got his name cause he's a Berkshire named after the Jaws animatronic shark, and Bob was named by my son. Every morning when he's on the way out, he'd say "Bye Bye Bob". I brought him home and couldn't figure out what to name him, so I figured I'd give my son someone to actually tell bye in the morning :)
I used to work at a pet store so my first rat was a rescued feeder, named Remy (after the rat in Ratatouille). He came out of the bin, and sat on my shoulder all day at work. I couldn't leave him after that. Sadly, he succumbed to a respiratory infection after only a week and a half. Feeder rats have a compromised immune system due to extensive inbreeding and neglect. I was just happy to give him a home. So afterwards, I got my first Dumbo, Bandit. He went nuts without company, so I got Bruce as a companion. There were two Dumbos who had become dehydrated, one had apparently had a stroke and suffered brain/nerve damage. He only lived about a week, but I'm very happy I was able to give him a home with love and attention. And well, I just couldn't say no to Bob when he ran up to me and climbed up my arm.

Hello!
My name is Xina and I've had pet rats for most of my life, going back 36 years when I got my first pet rat as a child. I've had as many as 77 rats at one time but right now I have just one hooded boy named Mr. Hoppy who is 2 years old. He is a full fledged, independent, and respected family member with myself and Katy, a 6-year old Cocker Spaniel. They get along great.
